Buea wears the colours of the Ashong people of Momo Division, North West region of Cameroon whose youths have begun their 2024 convention, July 27.

The come together in the opening day of two featured an exchange in some sporting disciplines amongst the young men and women who are drawn from different branches across the Republic.

Ashong Youths as a wing of the Ashong Cultural and Development Association (ASCUDA) from as far as Ikiliwindi, Ashong, Yaounde, Douala Loum, Kumba and Mutengene answered present, competing in handball and football.

The convention is described by the National President of the ASCUDA Youth wing, Barrister Acha Macklean Afoh as a platform to accelerate living together, foster peace and unity amongst his kin.

‘It has been for too long that Ashong people have not gathered together. So this was an opportunity for them to come and commune as brothers and sisters,’ Barrister Acha Macklean said.

He thanked the Fon of Ashong, HRM Mbafor III for giving the youths the go ahead to accompany
him in the drive to develop and modernize the fondom.

The stakes of the second day on July 27, shall be an election of new executives, fund raising for back to school, cultural exhibition and finals of the sporting competitions.
