Mr. Godfred Kwabena Agyei Asante, the Juaboso District Chief Executive (DCE), in the Western North Region, has commended the government on its decision to provide earth-moving equipment to reshape roads in the area.

He said the ‘equipment, distributed under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) would give Juaboso roads a facelift and bring socio-economic development to the people who were predominantly farmers.

The DCE, who said this during the official launch and introduction of the DRIP at Antobia, stated that the DRIP machines were the sole achievement of President Nana Akuffo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr Asante asked residents to ignore some claims that Members of Parliament (MPs) used part of their Common Fund to procure the equipment.

He appealed to traditional rulers within the district to give the operators the needed support to make feeder roads within the area much better.

‘The idea of giving earth moving equipment to District Assemblies can only be seen under an NPP government, s
o we must vote for Dr Bawumia as the next President of Ghana and Dr Alex Ampaabeng as the next MP for Juaboso for accelerated growth,’ the DCE said.

Some residents in an interview with the Ghana News Agency expressed gratitude to the government for the DRIP initiative and said it would ease their burden on transporting their farm produce to the nearest markets.
