Geb Djehouty 6261 is the 1st day of the year of the Kamite calendar which corresponds to July 19, 2024, celebrated later in Ouagadougou by all those who want to reconnect with the ancient history of Africans since ancient Egypt.

‘We have initiated for 9 years the reference to the African calendar whose symbol is to invite us to give ourselves value in the same way as the other races of the world’ declared in his speech Mr. Lianhoué Imhotep Bayala the National Coordinator of the framework ‘Two Hours for Us Two Hours for Kamita.

According to Mr. Bayala, Africans must consider the use of the Kamita calendar to promote our culture and traditions in Africa. This calendar, anchored in our historical and spiritual roots, reflects our connection with nature and our collective heritage. By adopting it, Africans affirm their id
entity and reinforce the richness of their traditions.

In Bayala’s opinion, this festival is to celebrate heritage and unity and call every African, every person of African descent, to unite to promote their common identity, their aspirations and their collective future.

The organizers of the event say they have understood that for Africa to free itself from external domination, it is essential to promote solidarity between African nations and their diasporas and to trace the course of history to the origins of Kamite civilization.
