The Cup of the general director of the André Dupont de Orodara Children ‘s House ( MEADO) has just been relaunched after several years of suspension for various reasons.
The launching ceremony of the 2024 edition was chaired by the high commissioner of the province of Kénédougou , Saïdou Sakira , on Saturday August 10 , 2024 , in the presence of the two sponsors , Pascal Kaboré and Soumaïla Sako , under the theme ‘ Youth united and committed to a Burkina Faso of peace and social cohesion ‘ .
According to the president of the organizing committee , Guy Edgar Korogo , the sports competition aims, among other things, to promote sport, the spirit of solidarity, cohesion, and the creation of links between the young people of the comm
une and those of the surrounding villages. and the discovery of hidden talents in sport.
This edition recorded the participation of 8 teams from the town of Orodara and surrounding villages.
The director general of MEADO, Ali Koné , recalled the history of the activity initiated 20 years ago by the former director general of the institution , Pascal Kaboré and the chief of staff of the ministry in charge of Humanitarian Action , Soumaïla Sako .
Mr. Koné expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the sponsors for their availability to support them.
He invited the entire population, particularly the youth of the commune of Orodara , to take ownership of the activity and contribute to strengthening the already solid link between the different components of our society.
The spokesperson for the sponsors , Pascal Kaboré , congratulated the organizing committee for the initiative then asked the population to support it so that the relaunch is a success.
