Paracyclist Frederick Assor will kick-start Ghana’s campaign at the Paris Paralympics when he features in the men’s 400m and C1 300m individual pursuit on Thursday.

Team Ghana made a colourful outing with their glamorous kente attire at the opening ceremony held at the Place de la Concorde in Central Paris.

It was a joyous moment for the Ghanaian contingent at the opening ceremony, with flagbearer Tahiru Haruna raising high the flag of Ghana with fans cheering on.

Team Ghana, made up of 12 athletes, would begin another journey to winning their first medal at the Paralympics, having made their debut in Athens in 2004.

They will be competing in four disciplines, including para-athletics, para-powerlifting, para-cycling, and para-taekwondo.

Over 4,000 athletes with physical, visual, and intellectual impairments would compete in 22 sporting disciplines at the Paris Paralympics.
