Ouagadougou: The president of the special delegation of the commune of Diapangou, Jean Youma, presided over the delivery of hygiene and non-food kits to 200 households of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and host families in the commune. This distribution took place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, facilitated by the NGO CREDO with financial support from World Vision.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was attended by local authorities and beneficiaries. Each household received essential items including a bucket, a 20-litre container, seven soap balls, a hand-washing device, a kettle, a children’s pot with a lid, a cup, an empty 100 kg bag for packaging the kits, two pots, two plates, three mats, and three impregnated mosquito nets.
Claude Bernard Tiemtore, the program director of NGO CREDO, highlighted the organization’s mission to restore dignity and autonomy to vulnerable communities, including the internally displaced. He emphasized their focus on addressing issues related to water and hygiene to prevent diseases such as malaria and diarrhea.
Issa Kabore, head of the water and excreta department of the regional directorate in charge of sanitation in Goulmou, expressed satisfaction with the initiative, noting its potential to reduce disease risk and ensure a minimum level of hygiene.
Jacqueline Idani, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, conveyed gratitude for the support, noting the importance of the items in helping them regain dignity and maintain hygiene.
Jean Youma, president of the Diapangou special delegation, encouraged beneficiaries to utilize the kits effectively. Beyond humanitarian efforts, NGO CREDO is also involved in education, technical and vocational training, food security, and child protection.
