Book Signing of ‘Captain Ibrahim Traore Said’ and Launch of Baore Digital Platform

Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, represented by his Minister Director of Cabinet, Captain Anderson Meda, dedicated on Saturday “Captain Ibrahim Traore Said”, a collection of his speeches since taking power on September 30, 2022, until the proclamation of the Popular Progressive Revolution on April 1, 2025. The ceremony also marked the launch of the Baore digital platform, a virtual video library dedicated to presidential speeches.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Captain Anderson Meda explained that the work “Captain Ibrahim Traore Said” aims to preserve for posterity the memory of the President of Faso’s speeches and to provide a source of analysis for present and future generations. He emphasized the importance of this collection as a tool for identity building and historical transmission, asserting that “words pass, writings remain.”

The book compiles the Head of State’s speeches at national and international events, illustrating, according to the speaker, the vision of a leader committed to the independence, sovereignty, and development of Burkina Faso. All proceeds from its sale will be allocated to social causes, added Captain Anderson Meda.

Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Gilbert Pingdwende Ouedraogo, noted that the interventions of the Head of State reflect a constant desire to dialogue with the people, to raise awareness, and to educate the masses. The work is distinguished by the spontaneity, authenticity, and sincerity of the presidential speech, breaking with formatted speeches similar to the direct and accessible style of Captain Thomas Sankara.

According to Professor Theophile Balima, Minister Counselor to the President of Faso, this national archive document constitutes a valuable source for various professionals, offering an overview of the political, economic, and social orientations of Burkina Faso, as well as strategic choices in matters of security and national sovereignty. The book highlights the originality and courage of the President, confronted with contemporary challenges, notably terrorism and foreign interference.

Professor Balima stressed that this collection constitutes a “source of inspiration for action” and a reference tool for understanding governance, development orientations, and the principles of sovereignty and justice upheld by the Head of State.

Alongside the dedication ceremony, the Minister’s Chief of Staff launched the digital platform Baore, which will bring together audiovisual productions on the President’s actions, initially available in French, with English subtitles, and the ambition of adding other languages, including Spanish, Arabic, and Mandarin. Captain Meda invited the Burkinabe to take ownership of these tools, which embody “the authentic expression of national identity” and constitute a reference for the struggles against imperialism and terrorism.

The locations and cost of the book “Captain Ibrahim Traore Says” will be announced at a later date. According to the Minister’s Chief of Staff, Captain Anderson Meda, the collection will be sold at a reasonable price, and all proceeds will be used to fund social projects.
