Ganzourgou: The New Provincial Tax Director Seeks Support from Constituted Bodies for Successful Tenure


Ganzourgou: The High Commissioner of Ganzourgou Province, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, chaired the handover ceremony on Friday in Zorgho between the outgoing provincial director of taxes, Sansan Kambou, and the new director, Cyrilles Zoungrana. Appointed by the Council of Ministers on September 18, it was on October 3, 2025, that tax inspector Cyrilles Zoungrana was officially installed as provincial tax director of Ganzourgou. He replaces Sansan Kambou, who held the position for four years.



According to Burkina Information Agency, in his farewell speech, Sansan Kambou expressed his gratitude to the highest authorities, administrative officials, and customary and religious authorities for their support. He recalled that under his leadership, from 2021 to July 31, 2025, the province recorded a collection rate of 108.94%, or more than 3.4 billion FCFA collected out of a forecast of 3.1 billion. He praised the cooperation of taxpayers and users, while apologizing to those who may have been offended during his mission. Promoted to head of the provincial tax department of Boulkiemde, he wished his successor every success.



Staff spokesperson Salimata Ouedraogo/Coulibaly praised the work of the outgoing director and reaffirmed the staff’s commitment to supporting the new manager. Speaking, Cyrilles Zoungrana thanked the authorities for the trust placed in him and paid tribute to his predecessor. He invited his colleagues and all the constituent bodies to maintain the momentum of performance, focusing on three missions: improving tax revenue collection, strengthening the quality of service provided to taxpayers, and combating tax evasion and fraud. He also expressed special thanks to the tax collector of Ganzourgou, Mr. Yacouba Traore, who served as interim tax collector until his installation.



The Regional Director of Taxation of the Oubri region, Mr. Idrissa Doamba, congratulated the outgoing director for the results achieved and encouraged the new one to continue in the same direction. Closing the ceremony, the High Commissioner, Ms. Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, expressed her gratitude to Mr. Sansan Kambou for his availability and his sense of public service, and congratulated Cyrilles Zoungrana on his appointment, urging him to take up the challenges in a context marked by insecurity.
