Ioba Province Raises Over 2 Million FCFA for Patriotic Support Fund During March

Ouagadougou: More than 2 million FCFA raised for the FSP during the 3rd march in support of the authorities. The people of Ioba province reaffirmed, last Saturday in Dano, their commitment alongside the authorities and the fighting forces, through a patriotic march punctuated by the presentation of a check for 2,319,235 FCFA to the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP) and half a ton of rice for the Defense and Security Forces.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this third consecutive march in three years, organized by the provincial coordination of support for the authorities and fighting forces, mobilized hundreds of people. Under the patronage of Ministers Serge Poda (Industry, Trade and Crafts) and Roland Somda (Sports, Youth and Employment), represented by the regional director in charge of sports of Djoro, the activity also benefited from the sponsorship of the Director General of Burkina Mines, Abdoul Razaky Kabore, represented by Dr. Saba Sawadogo.

The marchers, waving the flags of Burkina Faso, the three states of the Alliance of Sahel States (ESA), and Russia, walked nearly three kilometers from Dano town hall to the provincial treasury, passing by the territorial gendarmerie brigade. It was there that the provincial coordinator, Aristide Youorikie Dabire, deposited the collected funds before officially handing over the payment receipt to the High Commissioner of Ioba, Innocents Ouattara.

Mr. Dabire took the opportunity to pay tribute to the soldiers who fell for their country and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded. He also announced that the youth of Ioba had already collected 627 blood bags as part of a voluntary donation campaign.

Receiving the contributions, High Commissioner Ouattara praised the exemplary citizen mobilization. According to him, this march reflects the population’s recognition of the government’s efforts to secure the country, fight corruption, and rebuild the state. He called on every citizen to remain “a link in the chain of defense of the homeland,” by actively collaborating with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

The representative of the sponsoring ministers, Moussa Diabate, congratulated the organizing committee and reaffirmed the government’s support. “The entire population is mobilized to drive insecurity out of our territory,” he declared.

This civic demonstration ended in an atmosphere of patriotic fervor, thus marking Ioba’s renewed commitment to supporting the Transitional authorities and the fighting forces.
