Kongoussi Sports Association Triumphs in ACIPROS-U15 Tournament


Ouagadougou: The Kongoussi Sports Association (ASK) won, Saturday on the grounds of the Kongoussi Center schools, the 4th edition of the under-15 tournament called ACIPROS-U15, by beating the School Sports Association (AS Ecole) on penalties (5-4), after a goalless draw at the end of regulation time.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament is organized under the sponsorship of Rahimo Transport and Rahimo Football Club, with the theme: ‘Sport, a factor of social cohesion and strengthening resilience in Bam’. The final was played under the presidency of the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of Kongoussi, represented by vice-president Etienne Sawadogo.



The initiative for this competition is led by the Citizen Action for the Promotion of Sport in the Province of Bam (ACIPROS), chaired by Issa Ouedraogo. Its objectives are to promote the next generation of sportspeople, to enable young people to express their talents and to support clubs affiliated with the Burkinabe Football Federation.



“We want to give the children of Bam a chance to reveal themselves through football, while cultivating the values of solidarity and cohesion. That’s why we’re focusing on children. Today is the U15 final, and tomorrow, Sunday, the U17 final will be played,” said Mr. Ouedraogo.



The ceremony was also attended by several personalities, including Rahimo’s representative, the provincial directors in charge of Sports and Leisure, Youth and Employment, as well as the secretary general of the Centre-North Regional League, Rasmane Ouedraogo.



As a reminder, this tournament is in its fourth edition and is establishing itself as a real framework for promoting the sporting youth of Bam and an instrument of social cohesion through sport.
