Sissili: ‘Kabakourou’ Sellers Offer 100 School Kits to Vulnerable Children in Leo

Sissili: The Songtaaba-Nemaro-Zian Association of “kabakourou” traders of Ghana-Yaar offered, this Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Leo, 100 school kits and “kabakourou” soap, with a total estimated value of 650,000 FCFA, to vulnerable children. The traders of “kabakourou” showed their solidarity with the destitute children by offering them each a school bag containing supplies and three balls of “kabakourou.”

According to Burkina Information Agency, the association’s president, Abdoulaye Ouedraogo, known as “Baba,” stated that this donation is part of the President of Faso’s call for national construction. “We thought of these children because the President of Faso declared that they are the future of Burkina. With them, tomorrow will be better,” he said.

The event was held under the chairmanship of the first vice-president of the special delegation of Leo, Seydou Yago, and the sponsorship of El Hadj Ibrahim Kabore, CEO of the company Eau Sissili. The head of the Leo basic education district, Abdramane Nignan, as well as the principals of the beneficiary schools, also took part in the ceremony.

The first vice-president of the special delegation expressed his appreciation for this act of generosity. “You have removed a thorn from our sides and we thank you infinitely,” declared Seydou Yago.

“This gesture goes straight to our hearts. We have nothing but words of gratitude for the Songtaaba-Nemaro-Zian Association,” emphasized the head of the Leo basic education district, Abdramane Nignan.

The sponsor, El Hadj Ibrahim Kabore, reiterated his commitment to supporting actions that prioritize people, especially children.

The Songtaaba-Nemaro-Zian Association, which brings together traders specializing in the sale of “kabakourou” soap, is considering other actions to support the Burkinabe government’s policy.
