Bobo-dioulasso: The National Urban Land Development Company (SONATUR) has invested 70 million FCFA into social activities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy in Bobo-Dioulasso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the series of activities commenced on Friday, October 3, 2025, with significant contributions to the Souro Sanou University Hospital (CHU-SS). The Minister of Urban Planning and Housing, Mikailou Sidibe, presented a check for 25 million CFA francs to the hospital’s Director General, Gustave Y. Dabire. This support is intended for the anatomy-pathology department to enhance its facilities and improve cancer care in the Guiriko region, aligning with the objectives of Pink October, a month dedicated to cancer awareness.
The day’s events were structured in three parts: the check presentation at CHU-SS, a visit to the solar installations at the Dogona Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS), and an awards ceremony for Dogona primary school students and teachers. SONATUR’s Director General, Boureima Ouattara, highlighted their ongoing social programs, including the development of over 100 hectares to provide serviced plots and addressing issues with undeveloped land by allocating plots without charge.
Minister Sidibe emphasized SONATUR’s dedication to community support, citing previous initiatives such as constructing a health center and school in Dogona and the recent installation of solar lighting at CSPS. He also acknowledged the achievements of the Dogona teachers and announced forthcoming plans to sell developed sites, ensuring a transparent sales process.
The initiatives culminated in an excellence ceremony where the top four students from Dogona public primary school received scholarships of 100,000 CFA francs each. The school, operational since October 2024, boasts a 100% success rate in recent examinations. Additionally, the school’s ten teachers were each awarded a laptop, recognizing their dedication to education.
SONATUR’s commitment to integrating urban development with social responsibility continues to foster solidarity and sustainable growth in the region.
