Luanda – Angola Press Agency (ANGOP) marks this Monday (30) its 48th foundation anniversary with focus on technological modernisation.

Angola’s only news agency deals in collecting, treating and distributing information and news, always having into account the principle of objective reporting.

In 1978 ANGOP was transformed into a state-owned press organ, through a presidential decree.

In terms of its news service, the agency adopted in the year 1991 a non-stop (24 hour) service.

In February 2000, the company began to publish its material in the Internet (on-line service). Eight years later it entered a new era by launching its information portal, which increased the agency’s responsibility towards the public.

ANGOP has delegations in the country’s 18 provinces and correspondents in various municipalities. Abroad, it has correspondents in Portugal and Canada.
