Two suspected human bone traffickers of Central Africa Republic nationality have landed in the hands of gendarmes in Douala. They were to find a potential buyer in Cameroon’s economic capital.

Unfortunately, they met the wrong contact to link them up with a potential buyer of the human skeletons.

‘We received a phone call from an anonymous person reporting that two men from the Central African Republic approached and proposed to him a precious parcel(human bones) and to be connected with someone who can also buy. Without waste of time, we organized a team to investigate and arrest the men’. Chief warrant officer Amougou Mvondo Elie Richard, Commander of the Airport 1 Gendarmerie Brigade explained.

The secret operation carried out by the team of gendarme officers resulted in the arrest of the two suspects, Monpessa Sekala, 29, and Abdramane Adjali, 24, precisely in Akwa.

Questioned during their presentation to the public on October 2, 2024, Monpessa responded that the bones of two corpses were given to hi
m by a man in their country, the Central African Republic he visited recently.

‘A man called Zakary Amenou approached and gave me the parcel containing the bones of two late individuals, worth FCFA 5.000.000. He instructed I take the parcel to Douala for quick sale.’ Monpessa disclosed.

After the presentation to the public, both suspects were remanded in custody for eventual appearance before judges in the law court.

Ever since defense and security forces waged war against human bone trafficking in Cameroon, a phenomenon that reached its apex, curiously enough, no suspected buyer has ever been arrested and presented to the public like the case with sellers.
