The Minister of Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, called for the engagement of all citizens in boosting actions for social harmony and cohesion.

According to the minister, Angola has made several commitments at the national level, with the support of the National Development Plan, and in the international arena, the United Nations 2030 Agenda stands out, on the Sustainable Development Goals.

The minister was talking about the awareness campaign on environmental prevention and family empowerment workshops, within the framework of the ‘Luanda World Capital of the Family 2024 – 2025’ Programme.

For this reason, she said that ‘we are called to implement actions, measures of social protection systems appropriate to increase the resilience of the poorest and in situations of vulnerability, empower women and girls to achieve gender equality’.

For the minister, the mission included reducing inequalities and making cities and communities more inclusive, resilient and sust
ainable.

The minister said that the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, has been expressing enormous concern about the degradation of ethical, cultural and moral values in society, where violence stands out, in particular for women and children, the defense of life, the stability of families, among others.

‘We want to affirm here that we have the capacity, and it is evident in the strength, availability and will to make Angola better and better, with the awareness of our responsibility, in valuing the family and strengthening its skills, as well as in the rescue and transmission of the moral, ethical, civic and cultural values of Angolanity’, Enhanced.

Regarding the recent declaration of ‘Luanda World Capital of the Family’, by the President of the World Family Organization, he emphasized that it is the result of the country’s visibility in the implementation of various projects in the field of the family.

‘This is a merit that requires a greater commitment from the country and engagement from all,
in boosting actions in favor of harmony and social cohesion,’ he stressed.

Regarding the program of activities under the ‘Luanda World Capital of the Family’ until 2025, he emphasized that its execution is transversal, taking into account that it involves different ministerial departments, partners, churches and all civil society.

For him, with the engagement of all, it will be possible to find better solutions to meet the concerns of families, which are and will always be an exercise of high complexity.

He believes that the activities designed and programmed to strengthen family skills are up to making families more stable and secure, ‘with this we will also have a more stable and inclusive country’.

The province of Luanda was proclaimed World Capital of the Family, within the framework of the 25th session of the National Council of the Family, held in May of this year, under the World Day of the Family, celebrated on May 15.

he Capital City, as part of the ‘Luanda World Capital of the Family 2024 – 2025’ Program.
