The Minister of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, João Ernesto dos Santos ‘Liberdade’, congratulated, this Wednesday, the Angola Press Agency (ANGOP) on the occasion of the 49th anniversary, which is celebrated today.

In a congratulatory note sent to ANGOP, the minister considers that the celebration of this anniversary takes place at a time when the agency is increasingly standing out in the technical and technological modernization of its resources.

It states that the commitment to technical and technological modernization is a prerequisite that makes it possible to streamline its services throughout the national territory and beyond, providing greater information coverage, responsibility and professionalism committed to providing a quality and faithful public service.

“Therefore, to the management, journalists, technicians, collaborators working at Agência Angola Press-ANGOP, I wish good health and renewed success in carrying out your noble mission of informing, traini

Agência Angola Press, abbreviated as ANGOP, is a public news company in the country, whose objective is to collect, process and distribute, on an exclusive basis, both in Angola and abroad, news based on objective information on national and international current affairs.

ANGOP was created in July 1975, under the name Agência Nacional Angola Press (ANAP).

At first, his work was distributed in the form of a printed bulletin, until, on October 30th of the same year, he launched his first telegraphic dispatch.

In 1991 he decided to broadcast his work 24 hours a day and also introduced innovations in editorial and technical plans.
