Volunteers in Tapoa Offer Free Educational Support to Students Ahead of New School Year

Tapoa: Volunteers provide free lessons to students to prepare for the upcoming school year. A group of teachers agreed to sacrifice their vacations to teach their younger brothers knowledge. This Monday, the provincial coordination of the citizen watch of Tapoa, led by its coordinator Arnaud Gnoula went to bring them their encouragement, their moral support and their congratulations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, school holidays are a free time, dedicated to rest and other fulfilling activities such as travel and hiking, when we know that for 9 months, they were working hard to fulfill their duty in often unenviable conditions.

For their leader, Kampadilemba Yonli, the program is about giving a second chance to these children, some of whom have suffered a disruption in their education due to terrorism. "It is also an opportunity for us," he continued, "to keep the children usefully occupied. These courses allow us to consolidate what has been learned, that is to say, reinforce what has been learned during the school year, and revisit concepts that were poorly understood or not mastered."

Paul Combari is a student in the 4th grade. For him, the advantage of the holiday classes is that we don't work under pressure like during the school year; our number allows the teacher to take his time to explain well and make us understand. Beatrice Gnoula, who will be going to the 4th grade this year, really appreciates these classes: they help us acquire the skills necessary to solve problems, analyze and concentrate on difficult tasks in all subjects, communicate and work in a team.

These children from several schools in the city of Diapaga are enrolled in the 5th, 4th and 3rd grades. There are a total of 157 children, including 53 in 5th grade, 67 in 4th grade and 37 in 3rd grade. Classes take place every day from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Deeply moved by this patriotic action, Arnaud Gnoula conveyed the encouragement and congratulations of the provincial authorities, as well as the civic watch. Thank you for the support of the students and their parents. If resilience is defined as the ability to overcome challenges and rise again in the face of adversity, you are resilient. The work done to make the most of the holidays is noble and honors you in more ways than one, Arnaud Gnoula said in essence. The classes that began on July 15 will conclude on September 15, 2025.
