Poni Patriotic Immersion: 2,040 New Graduates Complete a Month of Training

Gaoua: The governor of the Djoro region, Siaka Barro, presided over the closing ceremony of the first promotion of the patriotic immersion program for new high school graduates at the Place de la Nation in Gaoua. The event witnessed the presence of administrative, military, and customary authorities, as well as parents of the graduates.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the program saw 2,040 high school graduates participating out of an initial enrollment of 2,200. This initiative, endorsed by the highest authorities, aims to develop citizens who are disciplined, patriotic, and committed to the nation's greater interests. Over a month, participants underwent 111 hours of training across 11 modules, including topics such as order, discipline, national identity, patriotism, the fight against violent extremism, intelligence, hygiene, civics, digital security, and entrepreneurship.

Abraham Hien, representing the graduates, highlighted that the training provided them with knowledge, skills, and essential values such as honor, civic-mindedness, discipline, patriotism, and coexistence. He expressed confidence in the supervision received and assured that they would apply their lessons to contribute effectively to the development of Burkina Faso. On behalf of the class, he reaffirmed their commitment and extended gratitude to the trainers, authorities, and local population for their support and hospitality.

Governor Siaka Barro reminded the participants that the conclusion of the immersion marks the beginning of a concrete commitment. He encouraged the graduates to practice the values learned within their families, communities, and soon at universities. The governor also commended the involvement of parents, civil society actors, and the Djoro population for the initiative's success, emphasizing that youth strength is supported by the community.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to the graduates and a parade.
