65 Young Burkinabe Undergo Training in Promising Professions as Part of PADEJ-MR


Ouagadougou: Sixty-five young Burkinabe currently participating in training courses at the IMAT Institute under the Project to Support Youth Employment and Skills Development in Rural Areas (PADEJ-MR) received a visit from the program coordinator, Yannick Koussoube, on Friday, October 17, 2025. The young individuals, hailing from the four regions where PADEJ-MR is active, are completing a refresher course in various promising professions and had the opportunity to discuss their training experiences and future career prospects with Koussoube.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Yannick Koussoube, representing the highest authorities of the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Employment, expressed his congratulations to the beneficiaries for their dedication and perseverance. He urged them to persist in their learning journey with rigor, discipline, and creativity. During his visit, Koussoube also toured the workshops to admire the creations made by the young trainees.

The program’s current incubation session
covers a range of sectors including agri-food, hairdressing, cutting and sewing, dyeing, agriculture, livestock farming, and fish farming. The aim is to enhance the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the participants, thereby facilitating their sustainable socio-professional integration.

This phase of incubation at IMAT is a crucial stage in the participants’ development, offering them the chance to consolidate their skills, gain practical know-how, and prepare for the creation or enhancement of their own businesses in sectors with significant economic potential.

PADEJ-MR, which receives financial backing from the African Development Bank (AfDB), aims to provide tangible opportunities for young people in rural areas through its training, incubation, and entrepreneurial support initiatives.
