Tuy: An association provides school supplies to underprivileged students in Hounde. The IL TERZO MONDO association handed over school supplies worth approximately 200,000 FCFA to students from poor families in Hounde on Thursday, September 4, 2025. The ceremony took place in the presence of the provincial director in charge of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity of Tuy, Brama Traore.
According to Burkina Information Agency, based in Italy, the association IL TERZO MONDO began its activities in the province of Tuy with an act of solidarity. Through its local representative, it donated school supplies to 12 students, including 7 in the Preparatory Course, 2 in the Elementary Course, and 3 in the Middle Course. The beneficiaries received kits consisting of bags, notebooks, slates, pencils and colored pencils, pens, and rulers. The handover took place at the provincial Humanitarian Action Directorate.
According to the association's representative, Felix Bonkian, this donation is part of IL TERZO MONDO's mission to help those in need. "This year, we decided to support some children of poor parents to mark our presence in the commune of Hounde," he said. He urged the schoolchildren to make good use of the supplies and promised further actions in the coming days, while urging the beneficiaries to work hard at school.
On behalf of the parents, Sogoda Lea Sanou expressed her gratitude. "This gesture pleases us because we didn't expect it. The supplies received will relieve us and help our children with their schooling," she said, before wishing prosperity to the association's activities.
Brama Traore, the provincial director of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, described the gesture as a "beneficial act" that provides relief to struggling families. "As the start of the school year approaches, many poor parents are struggling to cover school fees and acquire supplies. We thank the donor and appeal to people of goodwill to support the students of disadvantaged parents," he said.
As a reminder, IL TERZO MONDO is an association created around ten years ago by Africans (Cameroonians, Burkinabe, Senegalese, Ivorians, etc.) residing in Italy.
