Assumption Day: Mamfe Youths in Nkongle on a Pilgrimage

Some youths from the Divine Mercy Quasi Parish, Nkongle in Meme Division, South West region have embarked on a pilgrimage in preparation for assumption day, the day Catholics believe, Mary the mother of Jesus went to heaven.

The Radio Evangelium in Mamfe reported that more than 50 Catholic young people in M’MOUCK LETEH, made a spiritual journey up one of the hills in the area in preparation for the feast of the Assumption.

The short pilgrimage was led by Rev. Fr. Bertrand Agbor, the Principal of the Catholic College in the Parish.

“They all met at the foot of the hill before making the ascent to have an encounter with God like Moses,” a report said.

After about an hour of ascent, the young pilgrims found themselves at the peak of the Mount of Prayer, there they concluded the Stations of the Cross, and had Sacramental Confessions in the course of their recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet – prayers which were crowned Songs of Praise and Worship.
