The province of Moxico is awaiting air resources from the Angolan Armed Forces to survey locations that are difficult to access, to conclude the Population and Housing Census process currently underway in the country.
These are localities in the commune of Tempué, in the municipality of Luchazes, Lago Dilolo (Luacano) Caripande (Upper Zambeze) Mussuma Mitete (Bundas), according to the director of Provincial Services of the National Institute of Statistics, José Januário Mateus.
According to the person in charge, these locations are separated from the municipal and communal headquarters, whose areas cannot be entered by road.
José Januário reiterated the request for support from the Angolan Armed Forces, with the aim of completing this process in the country’s largest province, with an area of ??223,23 square kilometers.
To date, INE has completed the data collection process in two of the nine municipalities in the province of Moxico.
These are the municipalities of Luau and Luacano, located east of the
city of Luena, the provincial capital.
In this census operation, the process has already ended in the regions of Caianda, Lóvua, Nana-Candundo, Calunda, Macondo (Upper Zambezi), Sessa, Luvuei, Lutembo (Bundas), Cassamba, Muiè, Tempué, Cangombe (Luchazes), Lucusse, Cachipoque, Muangai (Moxico/headquarters) and Liangongo in the municipality of (Léua).
In the province of Moxico, two thousand 929 census sections were updated during the cartographic update process that took place throughout the national territory.
It should be noted that the National Statistics Institute recently extended the Census by four weeks, the end of which was scheduled for the 19th of this month.
According to INE, the decision is the result of a careful analysis of the operational conditions in different regions of the country, ensuring that this crucial process for national development is carried out with the greatest possible scope.

ependence, the third in the country’s history, after those carried out in 2014 and during the colonial period, in 1970.
