High Commissioner Noufo Dembele Commends Supervisors’ Dedication at Patriotic Immersion Ceremony

Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of the province of Koosin, Noufo Dembele, presided over the closing ceremony of the patriotic immersion program for the first class of the 2025 session in Nouna. During the ceremony, he commended the supervisors for their dedication and solidarity throughout the month-long training program.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the province of Koosin celebrated its inaugural promotion with 457 graduates, comprising 221 girls and 236 boys, aged between 16 and 22. The program, held at the provincial high school since August 11, 2025, aims to instill civic and patriotic values in young individuals, encouraging them to serve and defend their homeland.

The participants engaged in both theoretical and practical training through conferences, workshops, and modules, following a national timetable. Key topics covered included the nation's fundamental values, symbols, and current institutions of Burkina Faso.

The provincial director in charge of secondary education, Karfa Ferdinand Boni, acknowledged the challenges faced but praised the participants' commitment, self-sacrifice, and patriotism, noting the impressive results. He emphasized that while thirty days are insufficient to shape true patriots, they ignite the flame of patriotism that must be sustained.

High Commissioner Noufo Dembele paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) by observing a minute of silence. He further commended the supervisors for their commitment throughout the training.

Marthe Dembele expressed pride in the participants through two poems honoring the soldiers and the immersed. The event concluded with the anthem of the submerged, symbolizing a commitment to serve the nation. The ceremony ended with a parade, and a symbolic presentation of diplomas, which enables the graduates to enroll in universities across Burkina Faso. A date for the next session has been set for the following year.
