ZeroFox to Acquire LookingGlass, Broadening Global Attack Surface Intelligence Capabilities

Deal strengthens ZeroFox’s External Cybersecurity Platform with industry-leading attack surface management (EASM) and threat intelligence capabilities

WASHINGTON, April 17, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Today, ZeroFox (Nasdaq: ZFOX), an enterprise software-as-a-service leader in external cybersecurity announced a definitive agreement to acquire LookingGlass Cyber Solutions, Inc., a leader in external attack surface management and global threat intelligence. In today’s digital-first world, the rapidly expanding external attack surface has become a veritable playground for cybercriminals and nation-state actors alike, posing an ever-growing threat to enterprise and public sector organizations worldwide. Integrating LookingGlass’s industry-leading attack surface and threat intelligence capabilities into the ZeroFox External Cybersecurity Platform will enable our customers to build a robust security posture by providing world-class visibility into external attack surface assets and vulnerabilities, including improved actionable intelligence to disrupt emergent threats.

This escalating threat landscape underscores the urgent need for organizations to adopt comprehensive security strategies emphasizing proactive monitoring, continuous assessment, and remediation of their public attack surface vulnerabilities to defend against the mounting challenges of persistent cyber adversaries.

“The acquisition of LookingGlass is a natural extension of our strategy to provide our customers with a single end-to-end platform for protecting their external attack surface from increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks,” said James C. Foster, Chairman and CEO of ZeroFox. “We are bringing together passionate teams that have been partners for years, and proven world-class capabilities across attack surface management, digital risk protection, threat intelligence and breach response to continue our leadership in external cybersecurity.”

With one of the most comprehensive internet-facing attack surface intelligence data lakes, LookingGlass empowers public sector organizations, large enterprises, and industry security alliances at scale by providing extensive discovery, intelligence and cyber defense capabilities. These unique capabilities allow organizations to identify and assess threats in support of remediation strategies against the most sophisticated cyberattacks. The combination of intelligence and action enables some of the world’s largest organizations to inform their security teams about cyber risks ahead of full-fledged attacks.

“The mission at LookingGlass is to protect our customers by providing unmatched attack surface intelligence for global threat visibility and cyberattack disruption,” said Bryan Ware, CEO of LookingGlass. “Joining ZeroFox allows us to expand the capabilities we provide security teams to defend against cybercriminals and nation-state actors.” Ware, a cybersecurity industry veteran, former Assistant Director of CISA at the Department of Homeland Security, the Nation’s cyber defense operations lead, will join the ZeroFox executive team as part of the transaction.

League one: clubs have two more play days to show their worth

League one teams have just two days left to put out their best performances before the doors of the season are closed.

North West clubs have not been in the best of shapes but their chances of dropping to inferior leagues are slim.

Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) of Bamenda had a difficult trip to Yaounde where they faced YAFOOT. At halftime, the boys of Amunewa Franklin were a goal down. They needed just 3 minutes to change the fate of the game thanks to a brace from Mael Dindjeke. The match end 2-1 for YOSA, meaning the team now moves to the 6th position in group B with 24 points and just a game left.

Their next and last game will be against Astres in Douala in two weeks.

PWD Social Club of Bamenda on their part managed to grab a point in the clash against group A heavyweight Canon Sportive of Yaounde at the Mbouda Arena Stadium on Sunday April 16th. The precious point puts the Abakwa boys on the 8th position with 22 points and two games left. Their next game promises to be a tough battle against another heavyweight Coton Sports of Garoua at the Rhoumde Adja Stadium in Garoua.

Their last game will be against Renaissance of Ngoumou at the Mbouda Arena Stadium in two weeks.

The Abakwa boys in their two remaining games will need to grab at least 4 points to secure maintenance.

The first team that has grabbed a playoff ticket is Bamboutos FC of Mbouda despite their 1-1 draw with Astres last April 15th. The qualification ticket was thanks to Fovu’s defeat 1-2 by APEJES at the Bamendzi stadium in a simultaneous encounter.

The Boys of Yves Clément Arroga have a total of 34 points with just two games left. Their next game will be in Garoua on matchday 21 against second place Gazelle.

The second playoff spot now will be between Gazelle and Fovu.

Other results of day 20 matches were as follows:

Dragon 1-2 Union

Coton 4-1 UMS

Aigle 1-0 Stade Renard

DJIKO 1-1 Eding

Avion 1-2 Renaissance

NHIA upscales efforts to promote equitable health care – Director

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has stepped up efforts to promote equitable health care, irrespective of an individual’s socio-economic features.

‘We must reduce the human-induced sicknesses, we must protect the environment, we must undertake regular exercise, we must eat a balanced diet, and we must avoid dangerous lifestyles,’ Mr. Confidence Owusu-Kontor, the Acting Director of NHIS Oti Region, has stated.

Speaking in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Tema and Mr Owusu-Kontor stressed that a healthy lifestyle is irreplaceable: ‘Let us all together work to ensure that we work and walk in a healthy environment.’

The NHIS Oti Regional Director stressed that it is also important for everyone to know the benefit packages and services to which they are entitled to prevent being cheated by health care service providers.

He emphasized that the NHIS covers 97 percent of all disease conditions in Ghana, except for specific branded medicines demanded by a patient, which come with an extra cost.

He charged Ghanaians to prioritize health needs, take measures to plan for unseen circumstances, and ‘take personal responsibility for your health.’ ‘It is important we make a conscious determination to live and undertake healthy practices’.

Mr. Owusu-Kontor encouraged the media to continually educate the public on the usage and benefits of the ‘MyNHIS App’ to discourage people from trooping to the NHIA office for basic services they can easily undertake in the comfort of their homes.

The NHIA Oti Regional Director reiterated that as part of the general measures to make health care accessible, the authority has launched the ‘MyNHIS App,’ which was a deliberate initiative designed to help citizens within the country prioritize their health needs, making it convenient, and comfortable to access health care.

‘Aside from the fact that the app is user-friendly and comfortable for members to rule on, it is also a cost-containing measure that reduces the overhead cost of the operations for NHIA,’ he said.

Mr. Owusu-Kontor explained that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) membership cards are dollar dominated and imported at high cost.

He said the app had recouped the cost and breached the funding gap for cost elements like printing data on cards, stickers, and other machinery used for developing membership cards.

‘The app has cut the cost of transportation and time when people move to stations to register or renew their NHIS.’ ‘It has also allowed access to benefit packages like maternity care, generic medicines, diagnostic testing, and emergency care,’ he said.

Adding that the app gives clarity to the services offered by NHIS for accessing any credited health facility.

TB kills 30 people daily in Ghana

30 people die daily through tuberculosis and 125 people contract the disease on a daily basis in Ghana, Mr. Isaac Opoku Asamoah, Senior Technical Officer, Greater Accra Regional TB Control has revealed.

He said TB had been a silent killer, and adults in most parts of the developing world, including Ghana, were unknowningly exposed to TB bacteria.

Mr. Asamoah who was speaking with the Ghana News Agency in an interview mentioned that the progression from latent to active TB disease depended on the individual’s immunity.

He said people with higher risk of progressing to disease were smokers, alcoholics, prisoners, people living in crowded and poorly ventilated rooms, mine workers, or persons exposed to silica.

He said persons with lowered immunity due to medical conditions such as HIV, diabetes, cancer, kidney failure, and malnutrition were also at higher risk.

He said the commemoration of the 2023 World TB Day in Ghana was marked by a series of activities, including nationwide screening, especially in densely populated communities, intensifying advocacy, and sensitization, among others.

He added that a webinar for pediatricians was offered by the Ghana Paediatric Society to increase their suspicion of childhood TB and enable them to screen more children in all facilities.

‘This is because TB in children is difficult to diagnose, and research done last year in Komfo Anokye found 50 TB cases among severely-ill children on admission from January to June,’ he stated.

Mr. Asamoah stressed that TB was a preventable and curable disease and said free diagnosis and treatment were available in all public and accredited private health facilities.

Engaging multiple sexual partners is hazardous

Dr. Mrs. Anita Owusu-Afriyie, a Medical Officer in the Oncology Unit of the International Maritime Hospital (IMaH), has cautioned against engaging multiple sexual partners as the practice is hazardous.

She said the expedition of multiple sexual partners exposes both the practitioner and the innocent partners to great danger and vulnerability, therefore, increasing the chance of meeting a person who is carrying the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a cancer-causing virus.

‘The virus that causes HPV infection is transmitted through skin-to-skin contact.’ Most people get a genital HPV infection through direct sexual contact, including vaginal, anal, and oral sex.

Dr. Mrs. Owusu-Afriyie said this at the weekly meeting, ‘Your Health! Our Collective Responsibility! A Ghana News Agency Tema Regional Office initiative aimed at promoting communication on health-related topics and setting the medium for the propagation of health information to influence personal health choices by improving health literacy.

‘Your Health! Our Collective Responsibility’ is a public health advocacy platform initiated by the Ghana News Agency Tema Regional Office to explore the parameters of the four approaches to health communication: informative, educational, persuasive, and prompting.

Speaking on the topic: ‘Some cancers and how to prevent them,’ Dr. Mrs. Owusu-Afriyie said the risk of getting HPV increases along with the number of sexual partners a person has.

‘If you had a positive HPV test and your Pap test was abnormal, your doctor will probably follow up with a colposcopy. Try to see a physician who specializes in this procedure.

‘During a colposcopy, your doctor will look more closely at the cervix, vagina, or vulva with a special microscope called a colposcope,’ Dr. Mrs. Owusu-Afriyie encouraged people to undergo an HPV test and Pap test.

Dr. Mrs. Owusu-Afriyie also zoomed in on the risk factors of breast cancer and stated that excessive alcohol intake, age, women who have not given birth

before, women who give birth but do not breastfeed their babies, early menarche (the first period), obesity, and family history are among them.

She said having early menarche and late menopause meant that one would have a longer period of menstruation, adding that, periods were based on the oestrogen hormones.

She said the oestrogen proliferate with cells such as fat cells to promote the growth of cancers and their spread.

She added that, breastfeeding also helps in reducing the risk, indicating that ‘when the baby is breastfeeding, the oestrogen level goes down, giving the mother some form of protection.’

She advised women to do regular breast screening to aid in early detection and treatment, stressing, however, that after doing a self-examination, one must visit the hospital for a clinical examination to help pick up any lump that might not be detected through the self-examination.

She said after clinical examination by trained doctors, ‘if any lump is detected, a diagnostic test would then be carried out to look into the tissues to confirm if it was cancerous, after which treatment would start’.

Dr. Mrs. Owusu-Afriyie added that the two types of tests that were mostly done in Ghana for breast cancer were the ultrasonography for women aged below 40 years, and the mammography for those aged above 40, adding that breast MRI could also be done to diagnose cancer.

She encouraged women to take advantage of the free breast screenings during the month of October, which is breast cancer awareness month, for early detection, adding however that, screening could also be done at any time.
