Princesse Issié Marie represents Cameroon at Miss Universe 2023

Miss Cameroon 2023, Ndoun Issié Marie Princesse, is representing the country at the 72nd edition of the international Universe pageant, Miss Universe 2023.

The competition which is slated to begin on November 15 with the finals to take place on November

18, is going to take place in the Latin American country of El Salvador.

Contestants from eighty-five countries and territories will compete in this year’s pageant.

According to her, it has been an amazing experience filled with great minds and participants.

she equally stated that her mission is to portray all the cultures and regions of Cameroon in her costumes.

Princess Issié’s participation comes after that of Monalisa Mouketey, who took part at the 71st edition of the Miss Universe 2022.

This is said to be the 3rd time Cameroon is taking part in the competition since 2020. The country was first represented by Miss Universe Cameroon, Angele Kossinda.

To date, there have been six victories for African women at Miss Universe. The first black African to win was Mpule Kwelagobe from Botswana in 1999.

Other winners include Angola’s Leila Lopes in 2011, South Africa’s Demi Leigh Nel Peters and Zozibini Tunzi who won in in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

It is during the competition that the new Miss Universe will be voted to replace the American R’bonney

Philippines: Nigerian man dies in hotel love making act

A Nigerian national, Nwaonu Uzuchi Emmanuel, 29, died on Friday November 10, 2023 in a hotel in Philippines in Mabalacat City in Pampanga neighborhood, Police report stated.

The victim is said to have arrived the hotel around 3pm with his Filipino girlfriend but would later die around 1AM the next day Friday while making love with the girlfriend.

The lady who rang the Police narrated that Nwaonu started behaving as if he was shocked by electric power before giving up the ghost.

“His body twitched and his eyes rolled up”

An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of his death.

Cameroon striker’s world cup qualifiers hopes in Jeopardy as MRI reveals serious injury

According to Besiktas, a Turkish professional football club, Vincent Aboubakar is facing a strained muscle along with internal bleeding in his right thigh as revealed in his recent MRI scan at the Acibadem Hospital. The injury was sustained during Besiktas’ 1-3 defeat to Bodo Glimt in the Europa Conference League on October 26 with the striker limping out of the turf at the 84th minute.

The exact timeframe for Aboubakar’s recovery remains unclear until more information is available regarding the severity of the strain and bleeding, as well as the effectiveness of his rehabilitation program.

According to research, Muscle strains can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to heal, with the additional complication of internal bleeding potentially adding to this recovery time.

The Cameroon national team captain was recently included in the list of players selected to play in Cameroon’s 2026 World Cup qualification games against Mauritius on November 17 and Libya on November 21. However, it’s currently uncertain whether he’ll be able to participate in these games but Aboubakar’s progress will continue to be closely monitored by his medical team.

Should Aboubakar be Absent in the lions den on November 17, he will add to the likes of Choupo moting, Kunde Malong, Olivier Mbiazo, Moumi Ngamaleu among many others who were nor summoned to the den.

Edea 1: Family in a state of dilemma since disappearance of son

A family in Edea 1 sub-division, Sanaga Maritime Division of the Littoral region is worried and restless since the disappearance of their seven-year-old son, Bogla Jaques Olivier, on October 14, 2023. Inhabitants of the Saint Palmier neighborhood where the boy and his parents live are now in shock and fear of the unknown.

”That fateful day we have been searching everywhere yet no trace of him. We don’t know where else to go to. I don’t understand if he has been kidnapped or what.” Explained Jaque’s mother.

”He used to go about greeting everyone. We miss him a lot.” A neighbor said.

”I was told one of his uncles came to check on him since it had been long he last saw him. When I called him, he told me he had come home but met nobody. We are confused”. Added the boy’s mother.

The family has appealed to anyone who comes across their son to kindly alert the forces of law and order who have been investigating his whereabouts.

Though kidnappings and demand for ransom are common in the neighborhood in particular and Edea 1 municipality in general, everyone is perplexed as to why since October 14, no one has called them to ask for ransom. However. their wish is that their son returns home sound and safe.
