HUAWEI CONNECT 2022 in Dubai: Innovative Infrastructure Drives Industrial Digital Transformation

Innovative, scenario-based technologies enhance digital infrastructure to unleash digital productivity

Bob Chen, Vice President of Huawei Enterprise BG, discussed how multi-tech synergy is critical for finding the right technology for the right scenario. He explained in his keynote speech “Innovative Digital Infrastructure Accelerates Digital Transformation” that “Data is at the core of digital transformation, and data ingestion, transmission, storage, and analysis are key steps. Huawei provides full-stack products and product portfolios to support end-to-end data processing, accelerating customers’ digital transformation.”

In terms of data connectivity, Huawei unveiled NetEngine AR5710, a hyper-converged gateway that is ideal for small and midsize branches, and NetEngine 8000 F8, an ultra-compact universal-service aggregation router. These all-new products are helping lay a solid data foundation to further unleash digital productivity.

In terms of data transmission, Huawei has been exploring how to apply the fifth generation fixed network (F5G) evolution across various industries. In addition, Huawei and a Dubai customer jointly launched a digital pipeline corridor inspection solution based on the optical fiber sensing technology, enabling automatic pipeline corridor inspection.

Regarding data storage, Huawei and Commvault, a data management software company, jointly launched a data protection solution that provides enterprise customers with secure and reliable data protection from end to end. This helps create a reliable and efficient storage foundation, allowing enterprises to maximize the value of data.

Pont Muha en cours de réhabilitation : les riverains saluent le geste préventif

Les berges de la rivière Muha sur l’avenue du large de la commune urbaine de Muha sont en train d’être de nouveau réhabilités depuis le mois d’août dernier. Des travaux menés par l’Agence routière du Burundi.

Les riverains du pont Muha parlent de travaux préventifs. Ils ont révélé que ces berges présentaient une grande menace pour le pont ainsi qu’aux habitations aux alentours.

« Pendant la saison pluvieuse, les eaux de pluies se jetaient partout, dans les routes, et même dans les ménages », a témoigné Gaspard, boutiquier sur l’avenue du large.

Cependant, cette population craint le pire si les travaux ne sont pas achevés avant le retour de la saison des pluies.

Rappelons que ce sont les seconds travaux de réhabilitation effectués sur le pont Muha. Les premiers datent de 2017 après son effondrement.

Mairie de Bujumbura : Loin de trouver une solution durable à la mendicité

Trois mois après la campagne de retrait des mendiants et enfants en situation de rue par la police en collaboration avec le ministère de la Solidarité nationale, ces derniers se voient encore dans différents endroits du centre-ville de la capitale économique. Selon eux, la pauvreté en est la cause majeure.

Sur différents boulevards, rues et avenues du centre-ville de Bujumbura, des mendiants ne laissent personne passer sans quémander de l’argent. Ils sont surtout des femmes ayant de petits enfants, des femmes et hommes en âge avancé ainsi que des personnes vivant avec handicap.

Nzeyimana, mère de deux enfants, mendie dans les rues de la ville de Bujumbura depuis cinq ans. Ce 12 octobre, devant le Palais des arts sous le soleil accablant, elle tremble de « faim ». Elle dit avoir laissé ses deux enfants à la maison à Tenga dans la commune Mutimbuzi pour venir chercher de l’argent.

Selon elle, la pauvreté la pousse à mendier : « Je suis veuve et pauvre. Je n’ai pas de maison car elle a été détruite. Pour parvenir à nourrir mes enfants, je dois venir chaque matin au centre-ville pour rencontrer de bons samaritains ».

Pour Espérance, mère de deux jeunes filles, la mendicité est devenue son mode de vie depuis des années. Rencontrées près de la place de l’indépendance dans le centre-ville, elle et sa cadette font le tour de toutes les voitures devant les feux rouges demandant de l’argent alors que sa fille ainée dort devant un magasin.

« Je suis né à Kamenge. Après la mort de mes parents, je suis sans abri. La pauvreté m’a poussé dans la mendicité. Je parviens à nourrir mes filles. Elles grandissent, j’espère que la vie changera un jour ».

Elle appelle les âmes charitables à lui octroyer un capital pour qu’elle puisse quitter la rue et faire du commerce.

« La rue est devenue notre abri depuis l’enfance »

Des enfants, souvent en groupe de deux à cinq, avec des habits sales et déchirés, sillonnent aussi les rues du centre-ville. Ils mangent tout ce qu’ils trouvent, sans souci de l’hygiène. Fatigués ou malades, certains dorment sur le sol sous le soleil de plomb.

« La rue est devenue notre abri depuis notre enfance. Ils nous forcent à quitter, mais nous reviendrons toujours », indique Asmani, un garçon de 12 ans, avant de demander avec insistance l’argent.

Son ami, plus jeune, approche pour le compléter : « Quitter la rue pour aller où ? Je me suis retrouvé ici sans mes parents et j’y resterai aussi longtemps que possible ».

Pourtant, les deux acceptent qu’ils puissent aller l’école si une occasion se présente et les moyens le permettent.

Le 7 juillet dernier, 200 mendiants et 90 enfants en situation de rue ont été arrêtés par la police. Les enfants ont été transférés dans les centres d’encadrement et de réintégration. Le secrétaire permanent au ministère de la Solidarité nationale, Félix Ngendabanyikwa avait indiqué que le travail de retrait des mendiants et des enfants en situation de rue devrait continuer en collaboration avec le ministère de la Justice et celui de l’Intérieur « pour qu’il n’y ait plus de mendiants au Burundi et surtout dans les rues de la ville de Bujumbura ».

Le gaz de cuisson non convoité dans la ville de Bujumbura

Le gaz de cuisson suscite peu d’engouement chez les ménages urbains. Il est largement utilisé dans les hôtels et restaurants.

« Les habitants de la ville de Bujumbura ne sont pas encore au courant de l’avantage de l’utilisation du gaz de cuisson », indique un pompiste et vendeur de gaz à la station-service Kobil située en face du Campus Rohero, ce mercredi 12 octobre.

Ce pompiste informe qu’un mois voire trois mois peuvent s’écouler sans qu’il y ait un client qui s’approvisionne en gaz de cuisson. Il indique que les acheteurs sont des tenanciers des hôtels et restaurants, des Blancs et des personnes aisées.

Un autre jeune homme qui vend du gaz au quartier INSS confirme que ces sont des propriétaires des hôtels ou des étrangers qui achètent beaucoup du gaz. « Les gens qui achètent le gaz pour les ménages sont moins nombreux. »

Ce commerçant explique que l’utilisation du gaz pour la première fois est chère lors de l’achat des accessoires. Les clients doivent acheter des bouteilles vides. Il confie qu’une bouteille de 6 kg fabriquée de façon qu’on y dépose immédiatement une casserole s’échangent entre 90 000 BIF ou 135 000 BIF. Une bouteille de 12 kg coûte 170 000 BIF.

Il fait savoir que le gaz en soi est moins cher. Le kg coûte entre 4 500 et 5 000 BIF. Ils signalent que lorsqu’on se réapprovisionne en gaz, on apporte une bonbonne vide et on te remet une bouteille remplie de gaz.

Pour lui, le gaz constitue un avantage. Il indique que le coût du charbon est cher. « Un sac de charbon de bois acheté à 60 000 BIF ne couvre pas un mois. Pourtant avec 54 000 BIF, une famille peut facilement utiliser un gaz de 12 kg pendant un mois. Un célibataire peut utiliser une bouteille de 6 kg de gaz de 27 000 Bif dans une période de 2 mois ».

Pour les risques d’incendie, ce jeune homme fait qu’il s’agit d’un accident ou le non-respect des consignes de sécurité qu’il faut fermer la vanne à gaz, éviter de fumer ou toute flamme ou étincelle.

D’après un spécialiste, utiliser du gaz présente aussi une plus-value pour la protection de l’environnement. « Le gaz domestique n’émet pas de fumée ni de déchets ménagers dans la cuisine. Au moment où des nombreux ménages font le recours au bois de chauffage qui entraîne la déforestation et l’érosion, l’usage du gaz protège l’environnement. »

Pour lui, l’Etat devrait détaxer le gaz domestique pour diminuer son prix et le rendre accessible aux ménages à revenus modestes.
