The findings, interpretations, and conclusions expressed in this update do not necessarily reflect the views of the World Bank, its Board of Executive Directors, or the governments they represent.

AT A GLANCE

• The agricultural and cereal price indices remained stable over the past two weeks and are currently 1 point higher.

• Domestic food price inflation remains high around the world, with high inflation continuing in almost all lowand middle-income countries, and high-income countries.

• High energy and fertilizer costs, poor weather in key producing countries, and the Ukraine-Russia war risks have led to high domestic food price inflation. Geopolitical risk highlighted as a major driver of price volatility.

• According to a World Bank report, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a major setback in global poverty reduction. Now, rising food and energy prices fueled by climate shocks and conflict have halted the recovery.

• According to an IMF paper, $5 billion to $7 billion in further spending is needed to assist vulnerable households in 48 countries most affected by the higher food and fertilizer import prices. An additional $50 billion is required to end acute food insecurity over the next 12 months.

• Our blog highlights the strong nexus between gender and food security, demonstrating the importance of integrating women into policy responses.

800MW solar power plant in Qatar deploying LONGi modules connected to the grid

DOHA, Qatar, Oct. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — An 800MW solar power plant in Qatar has been connected to the grid at full capacity, with all modules provided by LONGi. NO.2:ANXINSEC addressed the business interruption and data assets breaches for core business systems at GITEX GLOBAL 2022

BEIJING, Oct. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — GITEX GLOBAL 2022 came to a successful conclusion. During the most influential event, ANXINSEC, as a memory security leader, presented its competitive product, MDPS (Memory Detection and Protection System), and several scenario-based security solutions. The MDPS (Memory Detection and Protection System) of ANXINSEC gained a lot of attention at GITEX.

Meanwhile, ANXINSEC was invited to participate in the Gitex Global 2022 Huawei Cloud TechWave Summit MEA and officially joined the Technologies Along Silk Road Alliance, which will jointly empower the Silk Road technology ecosystem and provide security solutions to more overseas customers.

With close ecological cooperation with Huawei, ANXINSEC has paid joint efforts to continuously provide security solutions for overseas customers, which is well acknowledged.

As cyber-crime costs enterprises hundreds of billions of dollars every year, cybersecurity has played a more critical role. As per World Economic Forum Global Cybersecurity outlook, 87% of top executives are planning to improve cyber resilience in their organization. Therefore, ANXINSEC’s focus at GITEX this year is to provide a Memory Detection and Protection System. Unlike other security products that only alarm without further action upon detection of malicious attacks, the MDPS from ANXINSEC can quietly defend against attacks before any damage is caused without affecting the businesses and data assets.

“In daily operations, when discovering a vulnerability exploit attack, the entire remediation process usually will take several days, weeks or even months, from the third party’s patch release, test environment verification, production environment verification to production environment deployment. This leaves a considerable risk of being attacked at all stages during this period. By having a memory-centric detection and protection system, the customers will have a new option to enhance their defense-in-depth system.  It’s expectable to improve their defensive power while minimizing the time and space for adversary/threat actors. For better serving and supporting the customers, Anxinsec also provides professional security services, to help our customers in fulfilling the gap and ensuring their business continuity and data security.” the technology expert explained to the visitors.

In the midst of the great wave of the digitalization process, ANXINSEC is committed to protecting the peace of the digital world.

Kpler releases its new crude supply & demand assessment tool to help professionals navigate uncertain crude markets

Kpler’s offering is the only one built on proprietary data and taking a systematic approach.

BRUSSELS, Oct. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Kpler, a fast-growing leader in technology-led data, analytics, and market insight, today launches a crude supply and demand (S&D) assessment tool to help market professionals and downstream consumers better navigate the turbulent and uncertain global crude markets.

Kpler Crude Supply and Demand (S&D) is based on three sets of proprietary data:

  • Kpler Crude Flows – past and real-time data on crude and condensates global trade flows
  • Kpler Crude Inventories – past and real-time data on crude storage facilities’ capacity utilisation
  • JBC Energy-inherited crude and refined products models, built on two decades’ worth of constant enhancements led by market experts

The three proprietary data sets have been combined to result in a powerful crude supply and demand assessment tool, providing users with current assessments of crude supply and demand at global, regional and country levels. These assessments are updated three times a month and forecasts extend to 18 months ahead; included components such as inventories changes or crude flows allow customers to see precisely how and why balances are changing.

The product represents a new approach to delivering crude S&D balances for market professionals by utilising Kpler’s best-in-class proprietary data and taking a systematic and integrated approach, compared to competitors that rely on disparate public information and are forced to model out certain elements that Kpler captures with its proprietary data.

Due to high market uncertainty and volatility – driven by the conflict in Ukraine and a looming economic recession – Kpler’s new product aims at helping market professionals better understand the current supply and demand dynamics. It will also help users to better anticipate balances and price developments, to build more efficient trading strategies.

François Cazor, Kpler’s CEO, commented: “Kpler’s new Crude Supply and Demand product demonstrates again our ability to integrate Kpler organic data sets with ones stemming from acquired companies, to build smart products that facilitate sustainable and efficient trade. Our new offering not only brings users’ great value in uncertain market times, it also stresses how our corporate and product roadmaps are aligned, as the acquisition of JBC Energy this year has proved instrumental in making this release possible.”

About Kpler:
